Booooob Tuuuuuuuuube

Woot! So I just chopped up another maternity shirt and turned it into a regular boob tube. I looove stripes. I doubt I will ever wear it though, because I require a bra with everything. I was thinking of making a little shrug to go with it. Hmmm

Suns, Moons, Stars and PINK!

I got this super cute fabric last year to make my girl some pajama pants. I couldn't resist the suns, moons and stars on pink. Such an unlikely but adorable combination! They're not perfect, but again, the client was satisfied. Now I need to get around to finishing the pair I am in the process of making for my son..

Another skirt recon

A much simpler reconstruction, this one. I had this skirt for years and years.. and since I've had children my hips don't even come close to squeezing into it. So I shortened it and took it in quite a bit to accommodate my little one. She sure loves to dance in it. I think she wears it quite well.

Skirt Lovin' Girlie

So I had this little 2t size dress that my daughter used to wear. I loved the fabrics way too much to just let it go, and decided to do something to make it fit my now size 5 daughter. And here it is, reincarnated. She loves to twirl in pretty skirts, so this is another welcome addition to her very girlie collection. Of course she is always ready and willing to model my latest project for her. :)

The Beatles live on..

...or at least my prized Beatles shirt does. I finally came to terms with the fact that my Beatles shirt will not contain my endowments any more, and decided to reconstruct it into a top for my Beatles lovin' 5 year-old daughter. I think she likes it. The sleeves were a bit tricky, but oh well. She's happy, and the neighborhood children can go ahead and envy away.

Go ahead.. laugh at my before and after photo skills..hehe

Not so Maternity Anymore..

Okay, so I have had my two darling children, with NO plans to have any more in the future. For some reason I still have some maternity clothing in my closet.. Don't ask.. I'm the WORST pack rat you are ever likely to meet. So anyway, the stripes on this one made it near impossible to let go of, so I sat here and stared at it for a looong time, trying to figure out how it should be reincarnated.

It's not finished yet- I still have to hem the bottom and work the sleeves- but I am pretty proud of it so far. Trying to decide if I should add anything to it. Anyway, this is what kept me up until 2 am last night.

Easy as Pie

With the season changing here in Alaska, I found myself in need of a serious wardrobe revamp. Believe me, I have plenty of ugly ducklings in my closet patiently awaiting their transformation into something beautiful and wearable. I started out with something very simple this year. Remember those long sweater jackets that people started wearing around the time the Matrix came out? Well, I had one hiding behind my other outerwear in my closet, and decided I would like to wear it again. But I couldn't very well wear it in its' original form.. I had to do something, and fast. Applique? Nah. New buttons? Nope. Something simple. Nothing requiring a rocket scientist or even a super talented seamstress. I simply altered the length. I cut it off to where I wanted the hem to sit, and re-hemmed it using a super wide zig zag stitch. I wish I had taken a picture of the before, but oh well. This will have to do. Don't mind the strings in the front, I hadn't trimmed them off yet.
So yeah, as I say in the title of this one.. easy as pie. Nothing spectacular, but definitely something wearable. I just love the hood. A girl can't have too many shrugs. And no, the magenta tank underneath is in no way attached. I just had to cover up my home made dress form. Haha.

Yet again I try.

Ahh, yes. Here I go. My old blog was taken over by my other obsession-BJD's. I am now designating this space for all of my crafty endeavors. Time to oil up the old machine and get out my yarn.
